Meet the Misfits | JJ Pearson
JJ is playing the role of Uncle Bilbert and is our practical effects engineer for our 2018 production of The Broom Cupboard.
For nearly twenty of his twenty-four years, JJ has been heavily involved in every aspect of theatre that he could lay his hands on. A variety of theatres and jobs later and he’s still at it, so get used to seeing him near one. This is his first Misfit production, and he couldn’t be happier with this cast and crew.
JJ’s three most influential theatres thus far have been the Greer Children’s Theatre, North Greenville University, and Centrestage. Between them, he has played roles ranging from the Mad Hatter to Into The Woods’s Wolf to Shakespeare’s Leonato, received an Irene Ryan nomination and fantastic degree in Performance Theatre, directed a handful of musicals, designed special effects, and crafted magical theatre experiences for all ages. He couldn’t be more thankful to all of the influences and friends along the way that have shaped his experiences therein.
JJ is also blessed enough that he both follows his dreams and uses his theatrical training in his daily life and profession as a practitioner of prestidigitation, ie legend of legerdemain, ie chief of conjuring, ie wandering warlock, ie a magician. Yeah, it’s cool.
Lastly, and most importantly, he is madly in love with his new wife, Victoria Pearson (he loves saying that name) and can’t thank her enough for her love and support throughout the rehearsal process of this show.
